The new facility at Freeman’s Hospital was transformed from car park to Day Treatment Centre in under 38 weeks.
This extremely fast-tracked project could see more than 7,000 patients through the doors each year as part of a plan to slash NHS backlogs.
Acting as a ‘self-contained’ resource, it won’t be impacted by emergency admissions and procedures or winter pressures within the trust. As well as helping to tackle waiting list challenges created by the Covid19 pandemic, it will also minimise the amount of time patients need to stay in hospital, enabling them to recover in the comfort of their own home.
Hygenius were pleased to support our project partners in delivering this £24m facility in industry leading timescales, whilst ensuring full compliance and providing the highest quality interior elements. We provided the FF&E package for the 3,250 sqm building housing 4 state-of-the-art operating theatres, prep areas, recovery bays and reception/waiting areas.
“I love the space, the natural light – windows we can see out of, and the storage! It was good that people from here were involved in the design”
Lisa Hodgson, Clinical Educator*
Clinical teams and staff were heavily involved in the planning and designs elements, allowing them to create the best possible environment for staff and patients alike. This resulted in a purpose-built Day Treatment Centre at Freeman’s Hospital with plentiful space, light and quality facilities.
